About us
Hello! We are Catherine and Rob and we run Wild Rover Food; a sustainable, ethical business specialising in food for weddings, parties and events. Travelling around Scotland in our land rovers and field kitchens, we use the best natural and local produce we can find to deliver fresh, delicious catering to you.
‘Serving seasonal, scrumptious, sustainable food’
Seasonal
We develop seasonal menus to genuinely reflect what’s available in our local region throughout the year, as we believe that the freshest ingredients taste the best. We do of course take a wee bit of inspiration from further afield – pomegranates seem to be a must these days!
Scrumptious
We don’t create delicious dishes alone. We have two French cooks – Gwendal and Thomas – who bring their own ‘je ne sais quoi’ to the menu. Along with our friendly and fun service team, your food is very much a joint effort and we all bring a love of home cooking and ‘proper food’ to your day.
We are very happy to develop a bespoke menu with you too; maybe you’d like us to take a steer from your world travels or favourite cooks. Personal favourites of ours include Ottolenghi, Gill Meller, and Anna Jones for her simple seasonal creativeness!
Sustainable
It is not just taste that drives us to work with local producers. It is also they way in which they grow, or rear their product. For example, since we set up in 2012 we have worked with Denise and Chris at Peelham Organic Farm (even catering for their son’s wedding!), precisely because they have both the welfare of their animals and care for the environment at the heart of what they do. By committing to long-term relationships with a small group of suppliers and producers, we also play our small part in investing in the viability of their business and in the local economy too.
