HELLO!
We are Catherine and Rob, and we are the co-founders of Wild Rover Food.
In 2011, we swapped our jobs in Landscape Architecture (Rob) and Environmental Communications (Catherine), for a career on the road! Rob grew up on a farm in Northern Ireland and had a real desire to reconnect with farming, and I had interviewed so many people ‘in the field’ that I was inspired to do something different. A shared passion for cooking pulled our ideas together, and so Wild Rover Food was born.
Having restored Rob’s 1961 Series 2 Land Rover ‘Bessie’ and found a 1980s Ex-Army Field Kitchen, our next task was to build a network of local food suppliers. Our first weeks of cooking at Stockbridge Market in Edinburgh helped spark those connections and, from 2011 to 2013, we toured festivals to showcase the best of Fife and Scotland’s produce.
Over the last decade and together with our long-standing and amazing team, we have built the business into the catering and event planning company it is today. Those early relationships with food producers are now long-standing ones, and they’ve enabled us to have true traceability in our menus.
While our focus remains on cooking up seasonal, scrumptious, sustainable food, we put our collective skills into creating unique food experiences. We work with some amazing venues across Scotland, cooking in barns, castles, city venues and fields (that Field Kitchen still comes in handy!).
No matter what type of event you are hosting or venue you have chosen, we would love to hear from you and help you realise your vision!
Meet the Wild Rover Team
-
Rob
Co-Founder and Managing Director
Rob is happiest cooking up food for A LOT of people. Need a veggie chilli for 200? He’s your man! As well as his infectious enthusiasm for cooking, he is a great advocate for nurturing talent and supporting the development of new skills.
Outside Wild Rover he loves getting his hands dirty in his local Community Garden, and helping lead the village Beavers Group.

Catherine
Co-Founder and Creative Director
Food is never far from my mind! I’m happiest creating beautiful, seasonal menus that showcase the best from our local suppliers. I love that we are part of a genuine food network within Fife and beyond.
At home, I enjoy cooking for family and friends. Out of the kitchen, I love bike rides with our kids, visits to the beach, and occasionally throwing myself into the sea!

Dylan
Event Manager and Head Planner
Since introducing himself to us with a delicious loaf of homemade focaccia (!) in 2014, Dylan has worked at Wild Rover in a number of roles. Since 2021 he has been our Event Manager and Head Planner, working with clients to ensure the smooth running of their day.
Outside of work Dylan is a keen boulderer and will often be found clinging to walls! He is obsessive about cooking food and passionate about seasonality and sustainability.
-
Gwendal
Head Chef
Gwendal arrived in Scotland back in 2012. After honing his craft working in a number of Scottish restaurants, Gwendal joined the Wild Rover team in 2017, quickly working his way up to become our Head Chef. Gwendal has cooked in all settings and is a kind and fantastic mentor to many of our new recruits.
Outside of the kitchen, he enjoys sea kayaking on the West Coast and even makes beautiful kayaks by hand!
-
Anna
Head Baker and Event Manager
Like Dylan, Anna has been part of our team since the early years. Since becoming our Head Baker in 2022, she has used her culinary skills to develop our menu in many scrumptious ways. Anna makes all of our bread, puddings, ice-cream and even wedding cakes! On the wedding day itself, she brings her years’ of experience to managing the team too.
Outside of work, Anna is a keen gardener, growing many of her own vegetables. She also loves long walks with her gorgeous wee Patterdale Terrier, Maisie.
-
Katy
Business Development and Marketing Manager
Katy began working with Wild Rover Food in 2023, shortly after the team cooked up a storm at her own wedding! Katy’s responsibilities include developing shiny new processes to make all our working lives easier, recruiting new members to the Wild Rover Team and managing all things online.
Outside of the office, Katy is a dab hand in the kitchen too, having competed in MasterChef UK and working as a private chef across Scotland.
-
Iana
Commis Chef
Originally from Moldova, Iana started working with the Wild Rover team in Spring 2024. She is our resident queen of frittata and all things soup - her roasted squash soup is to die for!
Outside of work, Iana spends her time caring for her young family and enjoys cooking traditional Moldovan feasts.
-
Charlton
Commis Chef
Rounding up our fabulous kitchen team is Charlton, who joined Wild Rover in March 2024. Born in The Philippines, Charlton moved to Scotland age 5 and is currently studying professional cookery at college.
Outside of work he considers himself a bit of a film buff and is even a brown belt in judo!
