Sourcing local produce ensures you enjoy the freshest of ingredients on your plate

We are committed to sourcing the best quality local and Scottish ingredients to create our seasonal menus. Many of our suppliers have worked with us from the very beginning, and we enjoy relationships based on friendship and respect for each other’s crafts.

As well as reducing our food miles, sourcing local produce ensures you enjoy the freshest of ingredients. We really believe this comes across in the taste on your plate.

Working with livestock farmers we know and trust means we can be confident about both the care of the animals and the land they roam on too.

Below are some of the brilliant people that grow, rear and produce the ingredients that are part of Wild Rover Food.

  • PITTORMIE FRUIT FARM, DAIRSIE

Euan is our potato, root veg and berry man. All of his berries are grown outdoors, resulting in a slower-grown, sweeter fruit.

  • EAST COAST CURED, EDINBURGH

Susie and Steve have been producing award-winning Charcuterie since 2017. Their meats feature on most of our menus.

  • PEELHAM ORGANIC FARM

Denise and Chris saw our first adventures in cooking at Stockbridge Market in 2012. Their charcuterie and beautiful beef feature on our menu most weeks.

  • JOHN HENDERSON BUTCHERS, GLENROTHES

David and Andrew are third-generation butchers and their family run business has been supplying the local area with the best quality meat since 1934. We source our free-range chicken, lamb and venison through them. Here is Eric who delivers us the goods!

  • EAST NEUK MARKET GARDEN, ST MONANS

Connie and Tom started East Neuk Market Garden in 2018. On their two acres they grow a range of vegetables, (amazing!) salad, herbs and fruit. They do this following agroecological principles: that means that they think about the ecosystem of the farm as a whole, following organic methods without being certified.

  • GREENCITY WHOLEFOODS, GLASGOW

Operating as a worker co-operative, democratically run by its members, Greencity is the obvious choice for all of our grains, nuts, seeds, spices and flour.

  • HS MURRAY FISHMONGERS, INVERKEITHING

First opened in 1922, HS Murrays’ is hugely respected in the local area. Douglas has looked after us for all things fish since the beginning.

  • IVAN WOOD AND SONS, KINROSS

Established in 1970, Ivan Wood and Sons’ have excellent links with other Fife-based and Scottish suppliers and are our 'go to' for other fresh produce, including our free-range eggs from Leven.

  • PUDDLEDUB FARM, AUCHTERTOOL

Tom supplies pork for our homemade sausage rolls and main course roasts. His pigs are bred and reared on the farm, fed on barley and bedded on loose straw which they grow in their fields.

  • SPILL TEA, UK/RWANDA

SPILL provide us with quality everyday tea from Rwanda that is fully traceable and grown by smallholder farmers. It totally hits the spot and pays farmers more - at least 50% more than Fairtrade.

  • UNORTHODOX ROASTERS, KINROSS

Unorthodox Roasters is a coffee roasting venture founded in 2016, borne out of a 10 month trip to Latin America. Chris and Neil have been supplying us with unique and delicious coffee for a number of years and they also have brilliant cafes we like to frequent in both Kinross and Stirling.

  • L'ART DU VIN, DALGETY BAY

L’Art Du Vin are a passionate local independent wine merchant that supply us with all things grape related for our drinks packages and bars.

  • BELLFIELD BREWERY, EDINBURGH

Edinburgh’s Bellfield Brewery was founded in 2015 with the idea of creating exceptional beers that everyone could drink. They supply us with all our gluten free beers which feature on our bar menu but we also cook with it frequently too!

  • GREAT GLEN CHARCUTERIE, ROY BRIDGE

Jan Jacob and Anja have been supplying us with delicious wild venison charcuterie for several years now and their products appear on our starter boards most weeks. They source their deer from surrounding estates in the Scottish Highlands which roam freely in the hills and feed on heather, wild plants and grass.

Wild Rover Reviews

Bruce and Robyn // Guardswell Farm // November 2021

“Wild Rover catered for our wedding in November, and they were outstanding. We loved Wild Rover’s ethos of sourcing quality local food, and the food was all absolutely delicious! We felt that we could have chosen anything from their menu and that it would have been brilliant. They also sourced a cake of cheese for us, which was superb. We had so many compliments about the quality of the food, and we loved the relaxed style of the service. We're so pleased that we chose them!”

Frazer and Catherine // Cow Shed, Crail // August 2023

“Wild Rover catered our wedding in August, and they went down a storm. They worked with us to personalise the menu and used the very best ingredients - it was delicious. Everyone said it was the best wedding food they've ever had, and we agree. A real high point of the day, and as far away from by-the-numbers wedding catering as you could possibly get. Wild Rover are a must if you are a foodie and care about what is served at your wedding!”

Eilidh and Scott // Tullibole // August 2024

Wild Rover were everything we could have hoped for at our wedding. The feedback we had from guests was unreal - "best food we've ever had at a wedding" has been said by multiple people! The guest servers element was so much fun and added a different lighthearted twist to the wedding breakfast. And the CAKE - Anna absolutely smashed it.
